The Surat Colour Chemical Merchants Association, Surat was established on 19th November 1954. The main aim was to get united and to move faster in the direction of progress. The actual name given to the association was SUCHEMA but shortly it became popular as SUCHEM. All registered members of this association are known as “SUCHEM BANDHU”.
Because of the association, many members dealing or manufacturing Dyes, Basic Chemicals, Processing auxiliaries etc… have come together on one single platform as “UNITY IS STRENGTH”. This has resulted in settling many issues and disputes between suppliers and end users.
Apart from this, SUCHEMA members have become very active in Social services. There were three Blood donation camps organised with huge response, with more than 50 bottles of blood collected during each camp. The socially under privileged people of Ahwa and Dang were helped by distributing clothes ware to needy ones. Donations were given to natural calamity affected people at Kerala and Nepal. A sizeable amount was donated to Chanlla Galli Yuvak Mandal to install three injection pumps for neutralising Serration for thalassemia patients.
Gandhi Ghar, Kachholi which rehabilitates deaf and dumb students was one such organisation which was offered helping hand. SUCHEMA Movie club introduced for members and their families.
SUCHEMA has been organising seminars on issues which are related to Government policies relating to new regulations, which directly or indirectly affect the members of association like, GST, Environmental control and MSME.
The association intends to establish a Textile Laboratory, whereby Physical and Chemical testing can be done at local level with international standards.
It also intends to join hands with South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry to have active participation at local as well as international level.
Technical seminars related to innovations, sustainability and latest trends in Textiles industry will be organised periodically.
